We are planning to build within the next year and have decided that ICF is the way! We are planning to build a one story home on a concrete slab. What can you tell me about using an engineered frost-wall. I believe one method is to use the ICF in a conventional manner and to go up straight from the footings, but I would like to know what you think or know about another method - when the frost wall goes down 2 feet and then out 2 feet? Unfortunately I cannot comment on your footing depth requirement as this is determined by the building codes in your area.
