Question:
My wife and I live in a 2 story 2 year old home in Ottawa, Ontario.
I read once that a fair amount of heating is "lost" in the small air space/gap where the top of the concrete foundation "meets" the SILL board.
Would it be advisable to "insulate" this small gap to help prevent interior heat from escaping the house in winter? If yes, would a bead of chaulking do? Or should I would I use expanding foam?

Answer:
If the gap is large enough I would suggest the expanding foam, that way is will travel most everywhere (meaning even underneath the sill)because you wanna keep that cold or warm on the outside, be cautious with the expanding foam cause it does travel everywhere and is messy, if gap is small then run a bead of caulk where sill plate meets the concrete wall.
