Question:

How do I attach vapour barrier to metal studs in my basement? The vapour barrier (plastic) was already put up in a very makeshift manner and it is falling down, so I'm not starting with fresh sheets of plastic. It could be difficult to glue it to the studs from it's current state without tearing it all down. It was only stapled at the top to the wood framing. Thank you in advance. Michael Grogan

Your on the right path staple to the top of the wooden members all the way across, the let it hang down, at this point you can use acoustical sealant to caulk it to the odd metal stud, finally run a bead of acoustical caulk horizontally from where the bootom plate meets the floor.
