Hello,
My basement is really cold even after finishing the floors with drycore/laminate and replacing the windows. I have an older 1960 bungalow which has old 70s type wooden panels on the walls. Is there any way of drywalling on top of the panels with insulation in between?

Answer:
If the walls have no insulation on them, then it would be best to fur out the walls insulate them and cover with a vapor barrier then drywall on top, make sure your basement headers are insulated as well and the insulation on the wall extendes all the way down to about 6 inches from the floor. This will help in keeping the warm air or cool air in the summer time to stay longer in that insulated area.
