Question:

Hello Erin, I don't know to whom I should direct this problem. If you don't handle this query can you please let me know who would be able to help? Thank you, Yours truly Tyrone Pieris

Answer:

Tyrone, Mould is a very tricky problem. The problem isn't just the mould, it is the moisture problem that is allowing the mould to grow. As far a identifying the mould as to if it is harmful or not I feel that any mould is bad mould. Your first step for info on the subject should be to look to the CMHC (Canada Mortgage and Housing) site at www.cmhc-schl.gc.ca. Type 'Mould' under the search function. There is ALOT of info there. If necessary find a company qualified in dealing with mould. I know of a company called MSI: Mould Scene Investingation 1-866-815-4959. The most important thing about this situation is the underlying moisture problem. If necesarry find a home inspector or a air quality inspection service to help you identify the issue. If you need further help, contact me at 905-866-8358. Good Luck Erin Zagar Renovation Consultant EZDimensions
