Question:

Hi! We are about to lay laminate floors in our office, living room, and master bedroom. Our house is a "slab" house, so we have just concrete under our exsisting carpet. Our question is about the padding underneath the laminate. We have been told that it is not needed because of the concrete underneath, is this true? If not, what kind of padding do we need?

Answer:

Use whatever the laminate company recommends. If you don't use any underlay your laminate floor will have even more of a 'crunch' sound than without the under pad.
