Question:

HI,
I am getting a carpet and underlay for my basement. I also will be putting ciramic tiles. The carpet and underlay with be 3/4 of an inch thick. My ciramic is 1/4 inch. Now what i need to do is, I need to elavate the tile to 3/4 on an inch to match to carpet. I was thinking of putting down a 1/2 plywood but I don't know how to fasten it the the concrete floor.
Any ideas??

Thanks for your time,
Gerry

Answer:

Sorry it took so long I was away .the ussual method that is used in this situation is metal transition strip between the carpet and ceramics. We do not build up the floor under the tiles as this is expensive and not practical.
