My husband and I are looking at replacing the kitchen flooring. Right now it is linoleum. We have looked at different kinds of flooring and find that we really like the wood look.
We had considered the new floating floor or parket flooring.
Could you please advise us whether these are good choices for a kitchen. It is the main traffic area of the house and needs to withstand much use as well as spills etc.
Also, are they labour intensive? We don't have lots of money but we do want to put something down that will last.
Thank you.
Cathy
With wood flooring in a kitchen you have to remember that wood and water do not go together well and the heavy traffic will wear the finish on the wood much quicker tha in other areas of the house.Laminates are better for wear and maintenance but they can also be damaged by water.
