i have just removed a vinyl flooring. They were backed with a tar like paper and attached with a tacky substance like contact adhesive. I would like to get the floors sanded how would i remove the contact adhesive without damaging the flooring colour and the timber itself?
There is no easy way.Start by lifting what you can, then proceed with a hand scraper until you get to the wood next start sanding with a coarse paper and work your way up until you have a smooth floor apply sealer and two coats of finish.
