Question:
Hi Les
We recently moved into a resale home and have approx 850 sq ft of 16 x 16 ceramic tile that is bland.
I want to replace all of it with a combination of new ceramic tile (12" x 12"), hardwood flooring and carpeting.
What has to be done to remove this tile, prior to laying down the new flooring, carpeting and tile (ie, breaking tile, removing thinset etc).
Thanks
Rob
Answer:
For best results with your new flooring the existing tiles need to be removed to the subfloor.
There is no easy way it requires a lot time and effort.
You will find that if you can lift the tiles with the plywood sub floor that was installed under the ceramics the job will be easier.
