Question:
Dear Sir:
I have removed vinyl tiles from my basement concrete floor. The tiles came off easily but there is a black glue on the floor that is next to immpossible to remove. I plan on putting a laminate floor over the glue so it is not essential to remove the glue. The problem is that the exposed glue has a strong smell.
I tried commercial glue removal substance but it does not work at all. Could you suggest a method for either:
1) eliminating the smell; or
2) removing the glue.
p.s. We had vinyl floor installed from your company this spring. We were impressed with the professional installation and service in your store.

Since this is a basement floor and you are installing laminate you MUST install a vapor barrier on the floor before you install the pad and lanimate since the barrier must be sealed at all the joints this will lock in the odour just like the tiles did.
