Question:
2 Questions
1) We are building a mezanine floor in our commercial unit. It will be used as a martial arts studio - I am concerned about the amout of noise that will come through to downstairs. Are there any flooring products, etc that we can lay to improve the sound proofing?
2) The bottom level will be used for dog training. Right now it is concrete. We were thinking of painting it but it may be slippery. We tried some paint with "grit" in it at another place but it was too hard to sweep the dog hair afterwards. Any suggestions? We are thinking paint for cost but we are considering vinyl / linoleum floor too, but it still might be too slippery. Can you advise.
Answer:
1)If the new floor will be conrete the bare foot traffic shuold no problem unless you are useing weapons then you should be looking at specialty sports flooring which will reduce noise transmission.
2)Dog shows use carpet becuase it is not slippery a turf like outdoor carpet could be used, dog hairs vacumm easily and can be wash easily.Or,a rubber flooring.
