How far apart should I space my tiles for grout work?

Expert Answer:
You can go from 1/16 inch (mostly used in marble and granite installations) to 3/8 inch, and even 1/2 inch.

The best way to be sure of what you want is to place a few tiles and space them, then stand back to eyeball them. Another factor to consider is the size of the room. Most times, installers want to break even with the tiles to minimize the number of tiles that need cutting. In a bathroom or kitchen it is wise to use 3/16 inch spacers because of the moisture in those rooms.
